WordPress, Wix, Webflow, and Next.js each have their pros and cons. The guide to choosing the website platform that fits your business.

"Which platform should I build my website on?" It's one of the first questions every business asks, and one of the most critical decisions. The wrong choice causes problems for years: a site that is not optimized, poor performance, lack of flexibility, or high maintenance costs. In this article we survey the 5 most popular platforms in Israel in 2026, explain when each one fits, and what the right decision is for your business.
What it is: an open-source content management system (CMS). 43% of all websites in the world run on WordPress, and the picture in Israel is similar.
Advantages: enormous flexibility (60,000+ plugins), huge community, ability to edit yourself, reasonable starting pricing.
Disadvantages: requires maintenance (security updates), can be slow if not managed properly, vulnerable to hacks if plugins are not updated.
Who it suits: businesses that want to edit content themselves, need flexibility for custom features, and have a budget for maintenance (200–600 NIS per month).
Build cost range: 8,000–22,000 NIS.
What it is: a drag & drop Israeli platform, especially popular with small business owners.
Advantages: very easy to edit yourself, thousands of templates, automatic security and maintenance, excellent Hebrew support.
Disadvantages: mid-range performance (slower than WordPress), less flexibility (you cannot switch platform - your code is locked in), SEO limited compared to competitors.
Who it suits: freelancers, small businesses who want to edit themselves, basic brand sites.
Cost range: monthly subscription $14–50, build (through an agency) - 4,000–12,000 NIS.
What it is: an advanced platform that allows complex visual design without code, with client editing capability.
Advantages: excellent performance, built-in SEO, high design flexibility, client-friendly content editor.
Disadvantages: more expensive than Wix, fewer plugins than WordPress, recurring monthly subscription.
Who it suits: businesses that demand custom design, agencies, B2B companies that need a high-end aesthetic.
Cost range: subscription $14–39, build - 10,000–30,000 NIS.

What it is: a React framework for building advanced websites. The site you are reading is built on it.
Advantages: maximum speed, top-tier SEO, unlimited flexibility, performance that doubles conversions.
Disadvantages: requires a developer for any significant change, higher starting cost, less "relevant" for a business that wants to edit alone.
Who it suits: B2B companies, SaaS platforms, advanced e-commerce sites, brand sites for professional firms seeking prestige and speed.
Cost range: build - 12,000–50,000 NIS. Vercel hosting - free up to $20/month.
What it is: a leading platform for online stores.
Advantages: everything a store needs is built in (inventory, payments, shipping), excellent integrations, mobile apps.
Disadvantages: monthly subscription + transaction fees, less design flexibility than Webflow/Next.js.
Who it suits: online stores, physical sellers going digital, businesses with 50+ products.
Cost range: subscription $39–399, build - 12,000–35,000 NIS.

We currently build on Next.js for most clients. Why? Because Next.js's speed and precision boost the ROI of every marketing campaign. But we are not dogmatic. If a client must edit themselves, we recommend Webflow. If they want maximum plugin flexibility, WordPress. Whichever way it goes, we start with a conversation before choosing the technology.
Summary: There is no such thing as the "best platform". There is only the platform best suited to your business. The right questions lead to the right decision. At Simple Web we will be happy to help you choose, and we will not push you toward any specific platform. Shall we talk?
