Free landing page: five page builders and the limits of their free plans

You can put a free landing page online today with any number of tools, some of them Israeli, and sometimes within the hour. The question is not whether it can be done, but what the free plan actually gives you — and what is missing from it the day you start paying for clicks. We read the pricing and help pages of five tools that business owners in Israel use: Wix, SITE123, Canva, SendMsg and smoove. In this article you will find a comparison table, what each tool gives you free and where it stops, and the trap that "free" sets in a paid campaign. At the end there is a simple decision rule: when a free page is enough, and when it is the most expensive page you own.

Free landing page builders: what the free plan gives you in 5 tools

The details below were taken from each tool's own pricing page and help centre, and checked on 17 September 2026. Plans change, so open the tool's page yourself before you choose.

ToolWhat you get freeAddress and brandingPixel and tracking
WixA site with hosting, a drag-and-drop editor and templatesA Wix address, Wix brandingMarketing integrations require an upgrade and a connected domain
SITE123250MB storage and 250MB bandwidthA SITE123 subdomain and a floating SITE123 tagThe pricing page does not address it
CanvaUp to 5 live websites on the free domainA "Designed with Canva" label that cannot be removedThe pages we read do not address it
SendMsgUp to 5 landing pages and up to 250 subscribersA free address, with the option to connect a domainThe page mentions pixels, without naming a plan
smoove2 landing pages and up to 100 contactsA credit line, no private domainTracking codes only from the Basic plan up

The last column is the one that matters. A page you cannot install a pixel on suits organic traffic, not a campaign.

What each tool gives you free, and where it stops

Free landing page builders facing caps on storage, contacts and platform branding

Wix

Wix lets you build a site for free. The Wix plans page states that a Premium plan is what lets you connect your own domain and remove Wix branding. On top of that, according to the Wix help centre, using marketing integrations such as Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta Pixel requires you to upgrade your site and connect a domain. In other words, a free Wix page is a page on which those connections are not available. We are not quoting the plan prices here, because Wix notes that they vary by country.

SITE123

According to the SITE123 pricing page, the free plan includes 250MB of storage, 250MB of bandwidth and a subdomain. Removing the floating SITE123 tag and connecting your own domain both appear in the premium plan. The FAQ on that same page states that connecting a domain starts at $10.8 per month, on an annual plan paid up front.

Canva

Canva is first and foremost a design tool, but you can publish a website from it too. According to the Canva help centre, Canva Free users can keep up to five live websites on the free domain. A "Designed with Canva" label appears at the bottom of such a site, and it cannot be removed on the free plan. That suits an event invitation, or a page you share over WhatsApp.

SendMsg

SendMsg: שלח מסר — is an Israeli email marketing platform with a landing page editor. Its free plan is described as: up to 250 subscribers, 2,000 emails a month and up to 5 landing pages, with no credit card. That said, the benefits list on the same page also says "the first 3 pages — free forever", so confirm the number when you sign up. The FAQ states that you can embed Google and Facebook pixels and connect a private domain, without saying which plan that belongs to.

smoove

According to the smoove pricing page, the free plan is intended for up to 100 contacts. It includes 2 landing pages, a form of up to 3 fields (not counting a signature field or a file-upload field) and a smoove credit line. Embedding tracking codes appears from the Basic plan up, and a private domain for landing pages from the Standard plan up. On annual billing for 100 contacts, Basic costs 63 ₪ a month and Standard 67 ₪ a month, before VAT.

The trap: when free costs you a campaign

Paid clicks flowing into a page without tracking and leaving uncounted

As long as the traffic to the page is free, the page can be free too. The moment you are paying for clicks, the page is where that money turns into enquiries — or disappears. These are the four costs that never show up in a pricing table:

  1. No pixel, no learning. Google Ads and Meta steer a campaign by the conversions reported back to them. Without a conversion tag, the system learns from clicks rather than from leads. We explained how to wire that up properly in our conversion tracking guide.
  2. A platform address and platform branding. In our experience, a page with a tool's address and the tool's label at the bottom looks temporary — and in a business that sells trust, that registers.
  3. Ceilings. A campaign that works hits the contact ceiling quickly. smoove, for example, states that the plan changes automatically once you pass the quota. Which means "free" ends exactly when the campaign starts working.
  4. Privacy. A page that collects a name and a phone number needs a privacy policy, and consent wording when pixels are involved. We set out what Amendment 13 to the Privacy Protection Law (תיקון 13) asks of a small business in our guide to Amendment 13.

An illustration, in round numbers: 1,000 clicks a month. A page converting at 2% brings 20 enquiries; a page converting at 3% brings 30. If those clicks cost money, the ten enquiries that went missing are worth more than any monthly subscription in the table.

The decision rule: when a free page is enough

A free landing page is enough when:

  • You are testing an idea or a new offer on an audience you already have: a mailing list, a WhatsApp status, a group.
  • The page is a one-off: an event invitation, sign-ups for a small workshop.
  • You are not yet spending a shekel on advertising.

It is not enough when:

  • There is an advertising budget, of any size.
  • The leads need to reach a CRM or the business's WhatsApp in real time.
  • The number of enquiries you expect will pass the plan's ceiling.

Our rule: the moment there is an advertising budget, the minimum is a plan that allows a pixel and your own domain. If the writing and the design are yours as well, the design decisions worth settling in advance are set out in landing page design, and the structure itself in our complete guide to building a landing page.

5 checks before you publish a free landing page

  1. Open the page on a phone. Check the right-alignment, phone numbers that do not flip around, and a form that is comfortable to fill in with a thumb.
  2. Send a test submission. Where did the details land, how long did it take, and can you export the list of leads?
  3. Check the tracking on your plan. Not on the "recommended" plan in the pricing table — on whatever is open in your account today.
  4. Add a privacy policy. A link next to the form, and a consent mechanism if there are pixels.
  5. Plan your exit. What happens to the page and the address if you move to another tool or another supplier.

AI tools now produce a working page in minutes too. What they do well and where they break in Hebrew is covered in our article on AI landing pages.

What Simple Web does about it

Simple Web is an AI-first marketing agency from Bnei Brak, certified Meta partners and Google advertising experts, working with 200+ businesses and holding 28 five-star Google reviews. We build landing pages with AI, on the principle of one message, one action and a short form — usually a name and a phone number. The page is designed mobile-first, and the pixels and conversion tracking are connected before the first click arrives. After launch you can add a heatmap and A/B tests. A landing page with us is ready within 5–7 working days, and the price comes as a quote based on scope. What drives the price in the market, and what is included at each level, is set out in our article on landing page costs.

Summary

A free landing page is a good tool for testing an idea on an audience that is already yours. In the five tools we looked at, the pixel, the domain or the removal of platform branding are either not available on the free plan, or the page does not make clear whether they are. So the moment you start paying for clicks, the subscription you saved comes back as enquiries that go unmeasured. Choose a tool by what your plan genuinely allows, and run the five checks before you switch a budget on. Want to know whether your page is campaign-ready? Book a free diagnostic call with us.

FAQ
Pick a tool with a free plan — Wix, SITE123, Canva, SendMsg or smoove — and start from a template. Write one headline, one offer and a short form, then check it on a phone. Before you use the page for a campaign, make sure the plan allows a pixel and your own domain.
Create a design from a Website template and choose Publish website. According to the Canva help centre, a free account can keep up to five live websites on the free domain, with a "Designed with Canva" label that cannot be removed. That suits a page you share, less so a paid campaign.
In most of the tools we looked at, no. With Wix, SITE123 and smoove, connecting a domain appears only on a paid plan. With SendMsg the page mentions connecting a private domain, without saying on which plan. Either way, check inside your own account before you print or advertise the address.
Usually not. A paid campaign needs a pixel and a conversion tag in order to learn from leads rather than from clicks, and on the free plans we looked at that is either blocked or unspecified. For testing an idea on an audience you already have, a free page is enough.
You describe the business, the audience and the offer to the tool, and get a draft page within minutes. Then you edit the text, check the Hebrew on a phone, connect the tracking and add a privacy policy. The draft is fast, but the decisions about the offer and the structure stay with you.
